Siri Finally Gets Cracked! Can Now Be Ported To Android, Mac, iPhone 4, iPad 2!

You read it right, folks! You’ll be able to soon to run Siri on any device you just wish. Applidium, a French engineering firm, has managed to crack Siri’s security protocol that made Siri limited to the iPhone 4S. In other words, you’ll be able to run Siri on any device including Android, Mac and Windows.

This also includes any model of the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Siri is now not limited to the iPhone 4S, it can run on any iOS device and even on non-iOS devices.
What’s more amazing? Well, the awesome thing about this is that developers can now integrate Siri inside their apps too.

The iPhone 4S really sends raw audio data. It’s compressed using the Speex audio codec, which makes sense as it’s a codec specifically tailored for VoIP.The iPhone 4S sends identifiers everywhere. So if you want to use Siri on another device, you still need the identfier of at least one iPhone 4S. Of course we’re not publishing ours, but it’s very easy to retrieve one using the tools we’ve written. Of course Apple could blacklist an identifier, but as long as you’re keeping it for personal use, that should be alright!
The developers also found that Apple uses a lot of information when it communicates with its servers when it comes to Siri:

The protocol is actually very, very chatty. Your iPhone sends a tons of things to Apple’s servers. And those servers reply an incredible amount of informations. For example, when you’re using text-to-speech, Apple’s server even reply a confidence score and the timestamp of each word.
There’s only one bad thing; you’ll need a UDID of an iPhone 4S to get this cracking working on your device so at any time Apple could block the UDID you used. This means tat Apple could push a fix once it’s released, another cat and mouse game!
Siri was successfully ported to the iPhone 4 and iPod touch couple of weeks back. It has been also connected to Apple’s servers successfully.
Can’t wait to see this!

Get The Android Ice 4.0 Cream Sandwich LockScreen On Your iOS Now (Jailbreak)

Due to the ever increasing battle between smartphone devices present in the market, mainly by Apple, Android and Microsoft Windows, the frequent product and features updates coming into the market, not every feature can be captured by a company’s competitors.

Companies have been battling to get patents regarding a unique feature that they come up with first, so as their rivals cannot introduce the same feature in their next model.

Comparing these smartphones on the basis of their lock screens, Apple was the pioneer of the “slide to unlock” screen feature. To prohibit its rivals from copying this special feature the company obtained patent rights for it. Its competitors came up with a slightly different, yet creative version of the “slide to unlock” screen feature, such as the “join the dots” features seen in most Android smart phones.

Google is seen to be working on the Ice Cream Sandwich, which includes various cosmetic updates for its smart phone, including the lock screen feature.

You can find a jailbreak tweak on Cydia which enables you to get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich theme to your iOS. You can find this tweak by the name of AndroidLockXT on Cydia if you wish to experience the Ice Cream Sandwich theme on your iOS software.

You surely must jailbreak your device. You can use our guide to jailbreak iOS 5 tethered, semi-tethered or iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak. Once jailbroken, head to Cydia and search for AndroidLockXT then install it.

iOS & Android Beat Sony & Nintendo In Portable Gaming

Mobile analytics firm Flurry reported on Wednesday that trend of portable gaming is shifting from dedicated devices to smartphones and other multipurpose devices. According to results compiled by Flurry from NPD market research, Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android mobile OS will take up for almost 58% of portable gaming revenue in the United States for 2011, this is the complete opposite of what was happening in 2010 where Nintendo owned the same percentage of market share.

The data for 2011 is based on estimated of the last two months, however, the increasing growth in gaming on smartphones the actual statistics might remain the same. The ability to download somewhat free games or very cheap games to pass time surely casual gaming trend would have been expected to rise in the smartphones. Furthermore the ability to purchase new titles or read reviews about them from the ease of your hand held device who would want to go out and look for expensive game titles. Don’t forget the huge success of angry birds!

Nintendo’s decision not to make their games available on multiple platform might eventually hurt the company. Sony has already realized the situation and is now working on providing the same aspects of a smartphone to its portable gaming devices. Furthermore the recent Sony Ericsson release of an gaming smartphone named the Xperia Play will also be a good asset towards the smartphone gaming industry.
