Apple has recently updated its app ‘App Store’ which runs on the iOS. The update has been done to support the new self-checkout system at the retail stores allowing buyers to purchase items in Apple’s retail stores without the need for a clerk to take their payment.
The App Store 2.0 now comes with the following new features:
Personal Pick Up: Buy in the app and choose to pick up your order at any Apple Retail Store. Most in-stock orders are available for pickup within an hour.EasyPay: Purchase select accessories in store quickly by scanning the barcode and completing your transaction right in the app. (U.S. only, requires iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S)Track your stuff: View the status of current and previous orders from the order status section in the More tab.The App allows customers to walk-in the store, pick up an item from the shelf, scan the barcode with their iPhone’s camera and pay for it online through the EasyPay option. This reduces the need to find a in store sales clerk to help process the transaction.
With the new iPhone 4S being sold out in minutes this has become a great facility for consumers to pre-pay for their order and be notified when the item is available.
