A successful unlock to T-Mobile in US and other nation’s networks have been reported using the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. The method could be a bug and may be fixed with the next update of iOS.

First you need to know that this will only work until TMSI is refreshed, meaning that the unlock won’t stay for a long time. We have already posted the how-to guide to unlock the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS (follow the guide posted here). A little elbow grease may be required as swapping SIM cards is an integral part of the process and they need to have approximately the same size.
In the U.S., if you choose T-mobile for the iPhone carrier, you need to cut the standard iPhone SIM card to fit into the T-Mobile Micro-SIM slot. The best thing is this isn’t going to impact it’s functionality. You can use Google to find out the best way to do SIM card resizing if you can’t figure it out yourself.
When T-Mobile were left out from recieving an iPhone device, Sprint was the only new U.S carrier left for an iPhone device. When acquisition from AT&T happened, T-Mobile customer’s saw their wait come to an end. Before that, it would have been impossible for unlocking or using an iPhone 4 without a jailbreak.
If you have unlocked your iPhone successfully, don’t update your device when Apple releases iOS 5.0.2. This might be an unexpected bug in the Apple iOS update. iOS 5.0.2 software update is expected to bring a remedy and an end to the simple unlocking process.
If you have been successful in unlocking your phone using this strategy, we would like to hear from you below.
